About Fluoxetine
Fluoxetine (Prozac) is an SSRI antidepressant with an unusually long half-life (4-6 weeks to fully clear). This is important when switching medications, as interactions (especially with tramadol) can persist for weeks after stopping.
Also sold as: Prozac, Oxactin
Fluoxetine and Alcohol
Avoid alcohol with fluoxetine — it worsens depression and anxiety, and together they can cause increased sedation and unpredictable mood effects.
