About Metformin

Metformin is the first-line medication for type 2 diabetes in the UK. It lowers blood glucose by reducing hepatic glucose production. It is also used for PCOS and gestational diabetes. Rare risk of lactic acidosis with heavy alcohol use or kidney impairment.

Metformin and Alcohol
